What happens to a society that has forgotten to honor pivotal moments in the cycle of life?
What are the long term impacts on the youth, as they are ignored when they need guidance the most?
The ripples we see in today's world range from fear of challenge or discomfort, complacency as a norm, and hesitation to take risks, even minor ones. We see a society of women who feel shame with their bleeding bodies, or a society of woman who fear the mystery of birth. We see men who are challenged by being seen as vulnerable or feel unsupported in the depths of their hearts.
We see adults being sacred of the forest or of being alone, especially in nature.
We see a society that values more self gratification then village collaboration.
We see young women unaware that their sexuality is sacred and shall be embraced with reverence and honor. As women who proudly stand in self respect and dignity.
When we pause at pivotal moments of change, such as Puberty ,
Such as Birth,
Such as Marriage,
Such as Grief/Death/Loss,
Such as Menopause
We stand to gain more then our eyes may be able to perceive the future ripples.
We see groups of young women proudly celebrating their first bleeding bodies. Sharing that pride with their closest friends and allies, and in turn inspiring others to celebrate theirs.
We see young woman anchoring a comfort into their bodies, and a sense of reverence to their biology and its brilliance. We see women healing their voices, women healing their sister wounds, women healing their wombs.
Which then in turn, we see women standing in their femininity and embracing motherhood with grater ease.
Because in them lives a maiden who was fully seen and supported. In them was a maiden who was celebrated and honored. In them lives a story of embracing change and the beauty when things felt hard.
In them live the echoes of an Initiated Woman.
